Does Pet Island read my code?

No. It only shows what Windsurf sends with each request, and only on your computer. Nothing about your code leaves your machine.

Can I go back to Windsurf’s own prompts?

Yes. Disconnect Windsurf in Settings → Agents and everything works exactly as it did before.

What happens when the island is closed?

You choose in Settings: ask in Windsurf as usual, or block risky requests until you are back.
